The wine is made from organically grown grapes from old vines planted near the Cancarix volcano in Jumilla in southern Spain. The porous volcanic soils naturally limit diseases and pests, making it ideal for organic viticulture, while ensuring that the vines grow deep to seek nutrients, creating an intense wine, with soft tannins and notes of ripe black fruits typical of the Monastrell grape.
